A tale of short rib waffle fry nachos, a bonafide Iron Chef burger, truffled mac & cheese, and of course, cotton candy. The Rock n Roll Chef would not have it any other way.


Born in Evanston, Il, and at the helm of the kitchen everywhere else, Kerry Simon developed this culinary passion while working out the teen angst of trying to obtain that first electric guitar. A job at Little Caesars Pizza would help him score the funds, but he derailed along the way as he discovered his inner foodie. It was a love for Julia… not the Beatles version, but instead cooking icon, Julia Child. After practicing her recipes and proving himself sufficiently bitten by the cooking bug, Simon was off to culinary school. Soon he was earning his chops only to be plucked up by none other than Ivana Trump as the youngest executive chef of The Plaza Hotel’s Edwardian Room at the tender age of 34. Fast forward to that rock and roll passion and you have Chef Simon serving up the stars, the likes of David Bowie, Diane Keaton, Iman and INXS, all clamoring for a spot at his private chef’s table. Rolling Stone magazine dubbed him the “Rock n Roll Chef” …yet he still had to purchase his own electric guitar.


But, life goes on, and after stealing the Iron Chef title creating a winning cheeseburger with fancy sauce and acting as memorable mentor on Hell’s Kitchen, this rock and roller has left his mark. Simon’s culinary tour spans more than two decades of excellence from a myriad of restaurants and luxury hotels throughout the U.S. and Mexico, including: Lafayette Restaurant at the Drake Hotel, New York; The Plaza Hotel’s Edwardian Room, New York; Blue Star restaurant and Starfish restaurant at the Raleigh Hotel, Miami and Max’s and Mercury’s, Miami; SIMON kitchen & bar at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas; SIMON LA at the Sofitel Hotel, Los Angeles; Simon Restaurant & Lounge at Palms Place at Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas; LA Market at the JW Marriott, Los Angeles; Simon Prime Steakhouse and Martini Bar at the Hilton, Atlantic City; KGB (Kerry’s Gourmet Burgers) a burger and Vodka Bar at Harrah’s, Las Vegas; and most recently, Simon Mansion & Supper Club at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Punta Cana.
